Trademark Policy
The Builders Code is an initiative of the Construction Workforce Equity Project, which is funded by the British Columbia Provincial Government’s Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training through the Canada-BC Labour Market Development Agreement (BC-LMDA) and the Sector Labour Market Partnership Program (SLMP).
The Builders code brings together an influential group of collaborating funding (BCCA, LNG Canada, ITA, BCCA EBT, WorkSafeBC, BCCSA) and non-funding (Minerva, NRCA, SICA, VRCA, VRCA) partners. It is led an administered by the BC Construction Association (BCCA)
The Builders Code sets a standard code of conduct for workers on construction sites in BC. It defines an “Acceptable Worksite” as the starting point for reducing risk and ensuring a safe and productive environment for all workers.
The Builders Code is intended to help construction employers communicate a reasonable, consistent behavior expectation to improve the safety, productivity, and retention of skilled tradespeople, and reduce project risk. Therefore, there are several brand assets and materials available for partners and participating employers to download and utilize in promoting the program and implementing it within their organization.
These assets include, but are not limited to, trademarked logo, banners, images, videos, an employer pledge, posters, and policies. To ensure the integrity and reputation of the Builders Code brand and to protect its Trademarks, please adhere to the following guidelines when downloading and using any and all of the available Builders Code assets.
Permissible Use:
- All identified assets, including the trademarked Builders Code logo, available for download on the Builders Code website can be downloaded and used digitally or reproduced in print as often as is required by construction employers who are implementing the code as part of their employee or workforce policies and/or procedures.
- Any Reference to the program must link back to the official Builders Code website at www.builderscode.ca
- No part of the Builders Code logo or any Builders Code assets can be modified or repackaged.
- No part of the Builders Code logo or any Builders Code assets can be used for any commercial purpose or sold by any organizations without written permission from the BC Construction Association.
