Effective Leadership: Tools for Managing Worksite Behaviour

This 2-hour course is designed for executives and site supervisors in the construction industry.

Shaping positive worksite behaviour – one’s own and the behaviour of others – is one of the most important and powerful responsibilities of leadership. An inclusive and respectful worskite culture translates to better productivity and safety outcomes and can help attract and retain the best workers. This session will show worksite leaders practical ways to better their leadership skills and manage and maintain an environment where workers can thrive.

Course Outcomes:

  • Support forepersons, site supers, union business managers, and other site leaders in fulfilling their responsibility to ensure a psychologically safe worksite and retain valuable workers.
  • Learn how to respond to incidences of bias and discrimination that arise, and how to identify and manage negative behaviours in your crew before they escalate.
  • Reduce incidences of discrimination and bias on site due to age, gender, race, ethnicity,and other factors that are unrelated to work performance.
  • Learn how to use the free Builders Code resources to support your efforts.
